Whimsical side of Rome

After a wonderful two hours at the Borghese Museum and a well deserved afternoon rest that, hopefully put the end to our jet-lag disorientation, Joel and I set out for another stroll. This time, we discovered the whimsical side of Rome.

A headless quartet, directed by a their headless conductor, beckoned us for a joyous concert.

The mannequin below is wearing Joel’s shirt. We let him keep it, but we took a picture.

Our evening ended with the traditional after dinner cookies and candies. You’ll notice 3 rocks on the small plate. Three rocks are placed on each table in lieu of flowers to represent the three passions of Rome: wine, food and love. When I asked which rock represented “love”, our grinning server responded: “the biggest”!
