Monterrosso for the day and then back to Vernazza

We are staying in Vernazza, one of five villages (Cinque Terre). Today we visited the largest of them, Monterosso, after a very short ferry ride.
Never saw a “selfie area” before? Well, neither have I.

Wanted to capture the narrow walk ways between colorful buildings, when the entrance suddenly became more interesting with local flavor.

Don’t know what is more beautiful: that azure ocean, the kaleidoscope of orange popsicle umbrellas, or those water-colored buildings resting against the mountains.

More popsicles…a welcome change from that ever-present gelato stand

After dinner, on our way back to our bed ‘n breakfast, Joel is on the 43rd of our 67 stair climb!
Notice his slumped shoulders. By the way, we don’t dare forget anything when we leave because going back for something we might have forgotten is unthinkable!
