I left a bit of my hair and a lot of my heart at the e’SPAce salon in Santa Margherita. It started with these two emails:

“Dear People, I will be staying at Grand Hotel Miramare June 26-July 2 with my husband.  Our stay here will be half-way through a 2 month trip. I will need my hair colored by then. My formula and a picture of my color is below. Is there anyone at your salon who feels they can follow my formula to color my hair as it appears in the photo? If so, I would like to schedule an appointment for sometime during our stay. I look forward to your response.”

“Dear Mrs.Janet, with a pleasure we are available in our beauty center e’SPAce to do your hair, we have the hair dresser able to do the service from you request. We sagest to book one day in advance to be able to choose your preferred time the wellness center is open every day from 10a.m. to 8:00p.m.  Looking forward to well coming you soon to the Grand Hotel Miramare and remain with our best regards, spa manager Angela”

Joel and I arrived on June 26 to be able to view the Italian Riviera right from our hotel! Angela met me at check-in, explaining that my hair color was located in Milan and would be arriving later that day. 5:00 appointment…perfect! Sitting outside a beachfront cabana while waiting for my color to set…even more perfect!

Kids on the beach barely noticed how scary I look.

When Angela finished the color, she said “Let’s give you an Italian cut!” I replied, “Do whatever you want!” A perfect look…and a perfect friendship were born that day.
