The only cold part of this trip has been the weather. Southern hospitality and thermal underwear have kept us very comfortable.
Joel has arranged a well-paced, rich itinerary with the help of the internet and the advice of friends. We followed Elvis from his beginnings at Sun Studios to his lavish life at Graceland. The Civil Rights Museum took us on a memorable three hour path from the early days of slavery to the balcony and the view of Martin Luther King’s room at the Lorraine Motel, where he was assassinated.
We are almost at the half-way mark. Here are a few photos holding memories of dancing, singing and feeling a bit tipsy:

Hi Janet & Joel,
Sounds like a fun trip. Are you headed north by the sounds of things? Maybe to Williamsburg or Jamestown and on to DC?
If you missed it, Jeff Gorell ceded to Julia Brownley on Friday afternoon, so you may want to send Julia a congratulations message.
Richard
We still have some a plantation or two and Andrew Jackson’s home on our agenda here in Nashville. After that, we will stop at the Corvette Factory in Bowling Green and visit Mammoth Caves on our way to Lexington where we will tour Toyota, the Ruch Candy Factory and more. Our last 4 days will be in Louisville. We found out about Julia’s victory on Wednesday, sent out our congrats and took a deep sigh of relief.
